Total Course Hours: 4 (1/2 Day Course)
In this session we will take a hands-on approach to learn techniques for modeling a building specifically for energy analysis. Key goals are to gain an understanding of what should be modeled, and how the model will be translated to your analysis software through the GBXML format. We will discuss the importance of location and look at the new solar path tool within Revit, and use a free utility available from Autodesk Labs to perform a solar radiation study. In addition we will introduce the use of the Green Building Studio Web service to predict the Energy consumption of our design.
This hands-on course will be held at the Managed Design office in Edina, MN from 8am to Noon.
