Managed Design History

1980s: Managed Design opened for business in 1988 as CAD/CAM Engineering Systems (CCES), a group of designers and engineers with a primary focus of providing CAD/CAM software to regional companies that lacked design software in-house.

1990s: By the early 1990s, CCES was already recognized as a premier provider of CAD technology and transitioned to a total solution provider model by incorporating consulting services offerings. Once it became clear that companies were willing to place large investments in their design infrastructure, we recognized the necessity to reevaluate our own company’s offerings.

2000s: In 2003, CCES underwent a name change to better reflect our core competencies. Alignex Inc., “experts in aligning technology,” was established as a proactive, services-oriented design technology consulting team for the architectural, civil and mechanical engineering industries.

2010: By 2010 Alignex had established itself as a leader in providing consulting services, software, and training to both the manufacturing and architecture, engineering, and construction industries. As the manufacturing and AEC industries grew and changed, it became clear that to maintain a strong customer focus the organization would have to be divided.  The distinct organizations Managed Design and Alignex were the result of that split.

Today: Managed Design has grown into the premier provider of consulting services, training, and design software to the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. With a 22 year history we are commited to maintaining the quality of service we are known for and continuing to grow and adapt to the rapidly changing AEC industry.
